How to block Instagram permanently on Android.
Permanently means the block has to survive the version of you that wants it gone.
You have probably already done the 4 easy things. Uninstalled it, used a timer, logged out, deleted the account.
Each one held for days. The browser version was still there, and instagram.com on a phone is close enough to the app to keep the habit alive.
So permanent is not about Instagram. It is about who holds the authority to change the rule at 1am.
The 3 things a permanent block needs.
Authority that is not yours
on Android, the device owner role. Assigned once during setup after a factory reset, by scanning a QR code, and not removable from inside the phone.
A delay on every change
you set the waiting period while you still want the block. Later, wanting Instagram back is not a decision, it is a wait you cannot shorten.
Someone who notices
the delay handles 1am. Week 3 is a different problem, and it needs a person expecting a screenshot from you on Sunday.
What this also closes.
A blocker with device-owner authority covers the app, the browser route, the second browser, and a reinstall. It can take the browsers out entirely if you tell it to.
The last route out is wiping the phone. It takes 20 minutes and erases everything, so it is a decision, not a reflex.
Can you do this yourself.
Yes. The software is public and mostly free, and I will tell anyone who asks which class of tool it is.
That is also how every solo attempt of mine died. I set it up, week 3 arrived, and nobody was waiting on a number from me.
